The Elements of Time Management

This topic is about time management and how it affects the running of your business. What this comes down to is how do you get more done. The concept of work on what's important first is the biggest concept, and it is true in running a business. Higher priority work needs to be done first and completed.
What is the most important thing that you need to do to get to your goals. This is the thing that by the end of the day you feel you accomplished something toward your goal. By comparing day by day what you did on your productive day, you get an idea of how you are working. By evaluating your processes, you can see what works and what doesn't.
You need a clear idea of what do you need to do to accomplish your goals. This can be a goal for the day, week, month, and year. Each step will work on the steps to get to your goal. In your business, you need to determine what need to accomplish for this day that applies to the week goal. What weekly goals are needed to accomplish the monthly goal, and what monthly goals are needed to accomplish the yearly goal. Also each step of the process that doesn't accomplish the goal, you need to see why it didn't it get accomplished, and what changes need to be done to accomplish this goal. This is called Continuous Process Improvement. It allows you to make changes that will affect your outcome in a positive way. So it is a way to perfect your processes.
Now the goal levels can be set by how much you make a week, monthly, or a year. Or it can be how many customers can you get this week, monthly or by the year. Or how many products do you need per month, or year. It also works on how many auto responder email campaigns do you need for the year, or how many emails per month campaign. Lets say you want to do an email campaign with 100 emails over 2 months, which would be 50 a month. The results of this can be a comparison of how many people sign up or buy from you compared to how many sign ups total for the month. For example, out of 100 people, there are 20 that do decide to sign up. This gives you a 20% email campaign for that month which is trackable monthly. This is a way to track the results. This can also work as how many emails do you need to write for this week divided by how many days. So 100 emails in 10 days means a goal of 10 emails a day.
This can also apply to traffic. How much traffic do you want per month? So using 4 forms of getting traffic, log how many subscribers you get for each form of traffic generation per month. This will show you which traffic generation is producing the best results. Then for the next month, use what generates traffic and drop what doesn't. You are now perfecting the system.
Now if you take each of the steps that is part of your time management processes and find out the total metrics for each processes, you will see how much time your time management is taking per process daily, weekly, monthly and yearly. This way you can see what processes needs more or less time and the results for each. This way you can perfect the system.
All these ideas and more that I haven't listed are part of time management process because what you are doing is perfecting the processes of running your business. The main thing is don't wait till tomorrow to do something, do it today! Make it a habit of doing what you know you need to do today, not tomorrow to see your goals come true!
